Sometimes when we are out taking pictures, we end up missing the best of the little ones. These are easy to miss as they are very small and if you don't watch yourself, you can easily step on them. I went out in the Sagebrush Steppe yesterday and theseare just a couple of what I found - Bruce

This is a Midget Phlox and these little guys are only about an inch tall and the blossom is about 3/16". This is the smallest members of the Phlox family.

These Littlebellsare only slightly larger and like to hide among the Sagebrush. They are related to the Jacobs Ladder flowers we see in the mountains.

The images were taken with a Pentax DL and M50mm macro lens.

Beautiful shots of little pretty flowers. I like the effect the diffused light had created here, very moody and pleasing to the eyes. The background was also well captured, showing the habitat to which the little flowers belong. Another feeling got is: simplicity is beauty.

Great shots, and the flowers are so tiny and dainty!
