I would like to post a few pictures of the door knockers.. I have found three doors in a small willage last weekend having a very similar thing attached to the door.. Just love them all..[line]

As if someone could penetrate the wood from inside. This is a theme from Leonardo- I think? And Magritte. As well as some "trompe l'oeil" (trick the eye). Fascinating

Thank you, guys, for having a look..

I'll add two more door pics from another village.. just lovely details.. the 1st one is the same, but other one is a nice shadow, adding an interest to the door detail.. [line][line]The next one is just a remake of the above pic with a difference of 2 years and another camera, and different light..
[line]Ant the last one in this series..

[line]Similar details usually catch my eye..

Very nice! I love the old wood doors too. Also noticed the ring on each knocker, is that the finger used for displaying the wedding band in Italy?
