This isn't a very good photo....the lighting was bad...but just watching this spiderdrain the life out of this elm bug was interesting. The spider was about the same size has the bouncy emoticon Canon 100mm Macro lens. Tripod.

So critique if you want....but I already know it's not the best shot.

Thanks for looking

~Mandy

Thanks for liking it. Even though it isn't the greatest shot, it at least shows what happens in the "small" world.

hey Mandy,
it's kinda creepy but... considering the light, not a bad pic at all.

I'm curious why you don't like it.... Is it the lighting itself or what?

The lighting was just not good. I had a time getting it to meter right because of the shady conditions. Using a flash was too harsh. It was a good lesson though. Thanks for stopping by again.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I only wish the bug was more in focus...but oh well...can't have it all. Thanks for stopping by.

Well, with their 8 eyes, it is hard to escape their notice! :-)It may be the lack of contrast of the white spider against the white background that is troubling you, Mandy, butthat is the way camouflage works. Nothing wrong with it as it is.
