It was a lovely day in my garden a week or so ago, and I spotted this little worker. I was pleased because of my modest and very cheap equipment...

KODAK Z712 IS ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA
Exposure bias [EV]: -0.33
Focal length [mm]: 70.2
35mm focal length [mm]: 432
ISO value: 100
Shutter speed [s]: 1/256 (hand-held due to bee-hunting mobility)
Aperture: F4.8

Apology: I've used a more tightly cropped version of this already as part of a 'Landscape Photos' sequence, but felt it would bear a showing here, a little less cropped to bring its sharpness up to scratch for display here, and for artistic purposes.

Nice image. Live animals, be they insects or larger are alway a challange.

Thanks, Alan. We both get around these forums a bit!

I've had a print made of this one (and a few variants) with a view toa BBC photographic competition entitled "Animals in Action". It won't win, but I'll have tried. A neighbour won it with a rather boring picture of a tree a couple of years ago.

As a long-retired rock climber, I identify with the bee's little claw hooked round a handhold!
