Default Caterpillar

I finally came across a caterpillar in some milkweed on my jaunt around the arboretum today. The wind was blowing and the light was less than optimal. I don't think it turned out to bad. Thanks for looking.

In a few weeks this will be a Monarch butterfly. Nice catch - they are usually hiding under a leaf when the sun is this high.

I had a heck of a time finding them when I returned. I was out early a.m. and only had my telephoto with me. By the time I got back the sun was high overhead. They were under a leaf and briefly came out on top. Needless to say I was excited. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Nice picture - sure is a pretty caterpillar. Nice to know that such a pretty butterfly goes through a pretty caterpillar stage, too.
