while prowling around a river bank in the Washington Cascades, i spotted this little plant clinging in a crevice in the rock. i liked the contrast between the colorful leaves and the drab, gray rock, and the feeling that life can take hold almost anywhere... 5D, Tammy 24-135 @ 135mm, 1/25 @ f/20...

when ever I see that...and since I always use nature to draw parallels to human life....I think to my self, "now sometimes, we aren't planted in ideal situations. Growing and living can be a lonely struggle. But like the plant it is our 'mission' to grow where we are planted, and to do the best we can...no use wishing we were elsewhere"
