Default Fountain Grass

Fountain grass is really a weed, but tolerated and often planted on purpose because of it's pretty purples fronds. I found this under a tree in my backyard and found interesting highlights from the dappled sunlight. FZ35 + LC55.

Those are just fantastic shots!!! The last one is my top pick. The winds must have been calm on this day.

Thanks so much everyone, for your kind words!!

skd - There's really nothing special I did here. Used the LC55 close-up diopler on my FZ35. The sunlight was dappled so I made sure my subject was in the sun, and bumped up the EV by +.33. Then, as usual, I tried to place my subject with background at a distance to get good bokeh. If the background is in the shade, I get dark bokeh. Or, I try to look for something colorful in the distant background for some added fuzzy colorful background. I was in "P" mode with ISO 100.

I say again... looks like you have an interesting backyard

Outstanding series... can't pick a favorite... all are fabulous.

a field of this weeds wagging with the wind must be a really nice view

congratulations

The purple color species is good. The white variety is a non-native invasive species and is very bad.

Excellent shots.

Amazing shots of a simple bit of grass. Love the purple and the bokeh effects.

Thanks Rui and banksy!

Lomitamike - good to know! I do see the white/tan colored ones growing everywhere. They almost seem to grow overnight!
