Default The Old, Rusted Lion

These shots were taken in the original village of Oradour-Sur-Glane which was destroyed during WWII. It has been left exactly as it was in its destroyed and burnt out state. I had visited the site before and thought this car was a Citroen, but it is indeed an old Peugeot. All comments welcome.

Hi Jeanie - thanks for having a look. I love rust as well, though sometimes I do have trouble getting the focus right.

At first glance I thought this was the bus I ride to get to work... then realised the bus isn't in that good a condition...

Interesting area, good series

Diane, I assume this is with your new camera? I think they are totally fab, better than the flower shots you've posted recently. Exposure is perfect and really love your composition. I adore #2 of the hood ornament.

Wow, these are great. Love old stuff, the rustier the better I say. Nice angles and composition.

Hi

This car is a Peugeot 202.

The name of Oradour-sur-Glane remains attached to the massacre of its population by the SS Das Reich division June 10, 1944. The small city is now divided into two entities, the center of the memory is somehow the hyphen: the old village, kept in a state of ruin, which reflects the suffering of men, women and children in this small town, and the new village, rebuilt a few hundred meters away.
