Default Emperor of the night

I'm afraid this girl (best guess) has seen better days, she was flyin around my back porch in the middle of the night seemingly dissoriented. She'd sit still to let me get a few shots at a time though, letting me get alot closer than normal. She has alot of damage/brown spots that I don't know if it is heat damage or just age (particulary noticable in pic 3 on one of the elbows, the thorax and abdomen). I think she's a survivor though, she seems pretty strong still and was getting around well enough.

Cracking shots, just amazing clarity. How far away were you, what lens/set up were you using?? No.1 is well close.

Thanks! I was using d90 with Sigma 105mm macro. I was 2 inches from her in #1 (it's cropped to actual pixels), she was very docile if I moved slow. Had to shoot it with the camera upside down on the porch ceiling so the onboard flash could fire. No room for my head so I was looking through the view finder from about a foot away. Oddly when I'm against my view finder my pics aren't normally that sharp Might need to adjust something, lol
