Default Finally, wildflowers this Spring

It's been a long hard Winter here in the Northwest and very wet. I was finally able to get out last Sunday as the mud had dried up a little. It's been raining for two days now, but next Monday looks promising.

The image is of a Grass Widow, which is one of the early wildflowers that likes shallow lithosol type soil in the sagebrush hills. As you can imagine, the Spring winds are hard on them and any wind at all makes the delicate petals flutter. Sometimes a real challenge to photograph. I did see about 8 different kinds of wildflowers in bloom on this trip, so the Spring bloom is finally here.

Nice detail and colors, I used to live in Oregon and know how long the winters can be.
