Taken with a Tamron 70-300mm from 5 feet away (minimum focusing distance).

Thanks, Gary! I find myself using this lens a lot lately looking for birds in the parks and taking pictures of flowers. This lens performs better than I expected. Heck of an acquisition for $309!

Beautiful shots. You're right on about this lens. I have it in the Sony A mount, and, for the money, it cannot be equalled in "macro" performance. Many of my close-up shots in Flickr are with this lens, as well as an air show I shot in 2010.

I enjoy this lens a lot and it stays on my T3i when I go out to take pictures of birds and occasionally I get great closeup shots on flowers and insects.
