Default After the rain

We've had much rain in the past 6 weeks or so. Nikon D300, Nikon 75-150mm Series E manual focus lens, tripod, Nikon 4t close up lens for the last two.

Nice work. Good to see some new faces around here. As someone who shoots almost nothing but manual focus glass I'm also glad to see I'm not the only one

Thanks John. What are some of your favorite MF lenses? Some of my favorites are(all Nikon): 75-150 Series E, 105 2.5 P-C(this version was in production about '73-'75), 200 f/4Q(early '70s), 50 1.4, 100mm 2.8 Series E. I had the older lenses AI modified so they could be used on the newer Nikons. Nikon went to the AI system in 1977.

Nice series Bill.

Please send some of that rain up to Ohio. It's been dry.

Thanks. We had a good year this year-no drought for us.

I pretty much use the old Tamron Adaptall SP lenses. For macro work the 90/2.5 is still a great sharp lens though the new model that allows 1:1 without the extension tube would be handy. The 35-80 also has a great macro feature and is a much unsung lens in my view. I also have the 60-300 that has a good macro and it used to be my walk around lens but somehow it has lost the ability to focus beyond 30-50'. The rest of the collection includes the 400/4, 80-200/2.8 (my two favorites), 200-500/5.6, and 35-210 also w/ macro that I have as the main lens on my Nikon V1. I can shoot just about anything with that kit though obviously it helps if whatever it is isn't moving much
