Default Betta Splendens

Been quite some time since I posted.











Almost full fighting posture. Normally, the gills are MUCH more extended.

Wow. I've tried shooting my fish.... the glass reflects, the water causes distortion...
How'd you manage these? They're wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks, Conor. To be sure, patience is the key. Fish are not as "predictable" in their actions as are many birds or animals. I used a Pentax K-30 with Sigma 17-70mm as close to the glass as possible without touching. The off-camera flash resting on the aquarium glass cover. A piece of black foam sheet (available from any craft store) is on the back of the aquarium. It also helps cut down on reflections if you shoot in a dark room. Nothing fancy in the set-up (shown below)
