Default Experiment # 7.04

I tried to be good and work in the yard today, but this is what I ended up doing.

A pussywillow pod(flower ?) ready for pollination.

Two shots of a bumble bee trying to mind his own business.

An ant fight in black and white.

Am I still doing snap shots, or are these getting better?

The ant on the left won. In the second picture you can see that the one on the right is basically done. They both went their seperate ways.

ok the ant fights are in no way "snapshots"
great job!

the bees look like they could use some more DOF....but gj getting it's head in focus!

and the flower is a bit soft....

keep working!

isn't photography a great alternative to yard work?

I wouldnt be there taking pics of a bee... I'd be running away ... swiftly lol. The ant pictures are good captures; a lot of emotion, very very good job. The pussy willow- the colors seem a bit dull; even if that's the real capture maybe a little tweaking to the saturation on the yellows would help out a bit. The DOF on the bumble bee is a bit to shallow; but of course... it's a bee! I'd be running!

Other than that man, those ants are sweet.

Also, moongypsy; Do you have any pictures of the columbia? I'm a new Ex-Vancouveror... or vancouverer... or whatever... and I miss it badly! [ my family might move back in a year ]

Pics of just about anything would be nostalgic!

Sure Huckle, I'll get you some soon.

Bumble Bee's are fun, fun, fun(well maybe not fun, but not too dangerous). Yellow jackets are not.

*shiver* yellow jackets... that reminds me of a time I found a couple of yellow jackets on my shoes... well, one was on the outside of my shoe and it flew away when I came outside. I put the shoe in and guess how it felt? I didn't get stung <phew> but the bee went nuts and I could feel it moving around on my toes, the vibration of an angry bee's wings  <shudder> I can feel it again as I type

Never since have I left my shoes outside; I also had to explain to my mom the long strand of pronfanity she heard
