Default Spring Blossoms

Pink trees! Everywhere, pink trees. Spring has sprung.

A closeup of spring blossoms near where I work in Hillsboro, OR

Minolta S414, full auto, cropped in Paintshop Pro 7.

Nice shot, with good detail and color.

Very pretty, I actually like the detail in the bark. Is that a flowering plum? I tried the suggestion you gave me on focusing on different planes today, not as easy as I thought it would be (the delete key is my best friend). Will keep trying though as it is really a great 'assignment'. :P

Out of the camera it was large format (2272x1704), fine jpg (only about 5% compression). In Paint Shop Pro, the image was cropped, resized to 700 pixels wide and saved in a minimum compression jpg. I know jpg after jpg is bad. I don't know what formats photobucket supports. Probably not tiff but maybe gif or bmp.

My opportunity to reshoot that picture is gone. The blossoms have dropped and the leaves are coming out.

I am going to start shooting tiff in both of my cameras (Minolta S414 & Nikon D100) from now on. I can get 256 mb CF cards for $50 at Costco so storage should not be a problem.
