Great technique!

Any source of that knowledge or did you know come up with that idea?

Another exceptional shot. Give me ideas of what to do with my chess set I got for xmass. It is very much like that one. I never thought of using a streamlight as a light source, but it works very well!

hmm....does the stream light connect to the camera in any way? or did you time how long to turn it on and off...?

thanks

btw.....for your macros.....do you have a lens for it? .....my camera has a macro mode...and if i use full zoom with digital zoom i can focus pretty close and crop if i have to....but would like to focus closer....

JaroDefer... Not any one source for technique. I mostly just experiment alot with lighting techniques... Dave Black has given me alot of inspiration...The great thing about digital instant results...Vitto the Stream light is not on the camera It is a hand help LED pen light (Looks like a pen) About $18 Works great for Effects... as far as off and on , its all trial and error.. on this one it was a quick press and release 1/2 sec. at the most held about 4 inches above the king...I can do alot of these effects with both hands free to play with the lights because I use a tripod allways... and a timed shutter release... also my studio is very dark so i get no stray light. .... For the close Macro work I use a Tamron Sp Af ID LD Macro f-2.8 28-75mm With A +1, +2, +4 Hoya Mag. Filters, Or a Nikkor AF-S 3.5-4.5 24-85 With the Hoyas... Good Luck
