Default 2 baby hummingbirds

I went to my GF's parents house yesterday and they had a hummingbird nest about 4' off the ground and 10' from the front door in a bush.

So I had to try and capture the baby birds. Momma bird was no where around to bother me.

oh cool! hummingbirds are amazing.....it seems to have too small a DOF.....it would be better to have more of the little birds in focus.....
just my two cents

keep shooting (and posting)!!

The birds are difficult to discern. Maybe the DOf adjustment might help.

I couldn't get close enough to the birds w/o risking the momma bird rejecting them or having the mamma going Alfred Hitchcock on me, so I had to stand on a ladder and shoot thru the bush from about 10' away using my 70/300 zoom. It is probably more an out of focus from camera movement than depth of field problem. Tough to get steady when I didn't have much stability on the ladder.

that is understandable....hard to use a tripod up there

nice shot considering...and very good thinking not getting too close.....better get an "OK" shot and have the little birds live than get a great shot and have the momma bird reject them.....

As we left Mamma bird was on the nest so it seemed I didn't disturb them that much.

Thank you for your comments!
