I can't remember what these are called. If no-one knows I can find out tomorrow morning. Lets just call them fairy flowers for the time being.

those would be columbines, i think it might be the state flower of colorado, not sure, but there is a school there....that there was a big shooting at.....

tough stuff....but anyway..about your pictures

i think the second to last one and the one before that one are the best nice

Vito, you're correct. Columbine is the State Flower of Colorado. Or so I have been taught throughout my whole life!

Great pictures Ferny! I really like the second one! Its so pretty and the shape of the star just makes me smile... (im kinda odd like tha.t..)

Ferny,

The first shot is well done shows the outline very well.

Some flower trivia.

The naming of the flower is somewhat ironic since the name columbine is sometimes translated as a "dove" or bird of peace as in Columbia

The Latin name for the flower is "Aquilegia" or "eagle" which is a raptor. This pertains to the talon like appearance of the flower's outline.

Columbine sounds right. I keep asking and forgetting what they're called. :shock: We have some other variants in the garden which look completely different, but these are the most stunning.
