took this pair today, I guess they are hibiscus, Im not sure. They were peeping up above my neighbour fence and it was nearly dark so I used a flash.

That has come out quite well. I like what the flash has done. I don't think they're hibiscus. The leaf looks too jagged and the flower doesn't look right. I could very well be wrong though.

yes I was impressed with the flash as I rarely use it ever. The whole thing shot on auto as well. Im unsure of the kind of flower as well.

hmm....the only problem i can see, is that you can tell you used the flash, which is something most people don't like...and it seems a smidge overexposed....i'm thinking if you used a faster shutter, it wouldn't look like you used the flash too much..

just a thought....

I agree it's not the best picture, but it is good. The white in the centre of the flower on the left is a bit jagged which could be down to the resize. With a little touching up in Photoshop it will become better. I'm thinking saturation and contrast levels (and perhaps a slight amount of sharpening in the distant petals). The only area of any real problem is the white centres. The leaves and petals are dandy. It's definitely not worth the "the pic :?" if that were intended in a bad way. Which is how it has been taken.

If you can see something in a picture which needs to be improved say so. Don't say it's not very good and then run.

Which software do you use to resize your pictures. Iuse ACDsee or s-spline. Photobucket doesn't do anything with your image. I use it too.

Better buy an external flash for the Powershot G3. The flash on the G3 is to close to the lens, so the lens cast a shadow in your photo's and produces a lot of red-eye.

You can clearly see a shadow in the bottom right corner.
