I don't know the proper name, however this insect was taking a walk on my screen door. Looks like a leaf, however on my screen door he was quit obvious.

Its called a Katydid. They are kind of like some type of grasshopper.

The shot is nice and close but it looks like the insect is a little out of focus. Maybe the camera is trying to focus on the screen since its a larger object and does appear in focus. If your camera has a setting to do so, you might try using a center spot focus on macro shots like this.

Thank you so much for the tip, you are right, I had a hard time trying to find a sharp picture out of about 10 of them. The doorscreen was sharp but the Katydid was not. I checked and I was using dynamic focusing on my D70. Most of the pictures were taken in aperture mode. I need I all the help I can get.:-)
