Here's one from my backyard. It's a Flower Longhorn Beetle that I was watching on one of the Rose of Sharon bushes in my garden...

Was that taken in the evening? It's got that orangey hue to it. It's good Geoffs. A nice dof and even though the flower bud is the biggest thing in the picture, I'm focusing on the beetle. I've not seen a beetle like it. Well, only a lady bird. But the only resemblance is spots.

Thanks, ferny. It was taken just about the time of sunset but with still enough good light to be able to photograph with good DOF with no flash.

BTW, I made a mistake on the id of this beetle. I've just learnedthat this is NOT a Flower Longhorn Beetle but a Spotted Cucumber Beetle. That correction is for those who would care...

(Wish I could change the title of the posting...)
