shot with my G3, the background just happened to come out dark and is not photoshopped, the only adjustments color saturation and cloned out a couple of spots on the flower.

Very pretty, Julie! It's a little soft but I like a little bit of softness oftentimes in shots of flowers and in this case it seems appropriate.

nicely done! one thing.....you didn't here, but watch the far petals....in closeups you want either all the flower or part of it..so watch clipping (like i said, you didn't here, but look out for it on your next shots)

also, how did you light this? i like the dark background...simple, and very nice

Well Vito, believe it or not, this was shot with my G3 on auto in the first month I owned it, November last year. I was still getting used to the camera having been new to it after my powershot 110. It was at our local show in a hall on a table with a black vinyl cover, no flash. It just came out this way, lucky shot. Ive been hunting through all my old stuff and found this one.:-)
