Here's one of some leaves on a branch. I increased the contrast, and darkened the background.

This one is of some odd looking blueberries. I don't know what they're called, but they have an interesting look. Like the coloured stems.

And finally some red wild mushrooms. Don't know what species these are either, but the colour sure jumps out at you. thekman.

Thanks Steve. I've just bought the new FZ20, and am still learning it's best use of settings. It's a learning process, but I'm starting to like the camera a lot. Seem to be getting some better results now, than when I started. thekman.

Thekman,
Beautiful pictures, I really like the leaf branch with the dark background. The color blue is always cool to find in nature. It just seems so out of place. Cool shots.

I am glad to here that you are using an FZ20. I also just got a 20 and I am really impressed with it as well. After three weeks I am just know starting to explore the manual settings and other settings. Then at somepoint I will play with the external Flash I got. And the list goes on and on... what fun.

Thanks smac. Yes, it is unusual to see blue plants in nature.

It's fun figuring out how to get the most out of this camera. Today was the first time I used spot focus and metering, and I thought the results were better than any I've had so far. I had the contrast set to high, saturation and sharpness at standard, and NR to low. Seems like I got less noise than when I had the NR on high. Also, none of that red fringing showed up that I seemed to get with the other settings I'd used. Could have been because of low light most of the time. Not really sure. Will have to keep "experimenting". thekman.

Good to know. I'm writing those down to try.
