My oldest Red Empress, in an UnClean tank, will be a week before new python parts arrive and I can clean up But I couldn't wait to try :G


Eos 20D, ISO 800, 75mm at F2.8, 1/125 sec hand held, no flash tank light only.

In camera sharpen turned off, crop, level & unsharp in PS CS.

Beautiful fish. I too have a 100 gallon with African cichlids. Fish can be dificult to capture because of the erratic movement of the fish and the lighting. That is a nice picture and I am sure with your new camera as you "play" with it you will get some great shots!

I have had a Red Empress before but not currently.

Amazing change when they grow from the little black&silver checker pattern, to the Blue/Red adult :-). At last count I have this Adult, and 3 young working hard at getting big.
