I don't know if it is easyto figure but if you look at the last 4 picturesI postedyou can seethat it is a must to zoom a bit. You have to because of the vigenette. At a focal length of 8 the vigenette is gone and you can shoot those sharp and close pics!

So yes! You can use the zoom - and you have to!

I don't have the possibility right now to shoot a lot of insects...it's winter here in Denmark and I'm about to move to another city. But I'llpostmoreclose upswhen I have found the time and the right creatures!

If you want to get closer to a distant object you definitely have to buy a tele lens. The distancebetween themacro lensand the object, if you want a clean and a sharp picture, is only approx.15 cm/6 inches when at full zoom. When at wider angle you can get a greater distance to the object but then the lens will loose its purpose and you couldhave made the shot with the built in 10xzoom instead.

I'm looking for some days off now so I can test the lens to the max.

THANKS FOR THE PHOTOS!...GOOD FOR MACRO SAMPLING......HOPE YOU CAN POST OUTDOOR SHOOTS OF "from still to TelePhoto". and a night shoots too...THANKS AND MORE POWER!

I bought a Raynox lens after viewing Henriks images.
Here is a fly which got stuck in a almost empty glass of "paaskmust"
