shot with Panasonic FZ20 and Nikon 6T close-up lens, 1/60 @ f2.8 (light was really crappy..)



This li'l Tiger butterfly posed quite nicely for his portrait...

The light may have been crappy but your pictures certainly aren't! The clarity and detail are very good. I have not seen the first butterfly but the second one we saw in the Florida Keys at The Butterfly Conservatory in Key West. It was a great enviornment to take pictures.

The markings on the first one are unique. It looks like it would blend in very well in a wooded area.

Be proud of those they are really good!

thanks for the kind words. the pics actually look rather nice as 8x10 prints, too!

the brown one looks like a leaf or a bit of tree bark, till it spreads its wings... the top surface is bright blue! very pretty. unfortunately, when they land, their wings always fold up, so i couldn't get a pic of that lovely color...
