Hi Steve,

Actually, "expensive" is a pretty relative term when you get into sDLR's, especially at the professional level.

The SD9 is down to the $1500 range in many cases, which puts it below the price of an Olympus E10/E20 - and about the original price of the E-100RS. It's well below the price of a Nikon D100, Canon D60 or Fuji S2, etc. - but obviously much more than the current crop of upper-end consumer or prosumer cameras.

But when you think of the current prices of cameras like the EOS-1Ds or DCS-760, etc. - it's a real bargain. Fortunately the camera is much less expensive in the U.S. than in other countries, so even after testing it for a couple weeks, I sold it to a friend in Switzerland who would have had to pay around $2700 for it at home and was very happy to get it for a U.S. price - Think of it as simply renting the camera for tests then returning it :-)

Best regards,
