Nice. Curious, what kind of magnifying glass did you use? A toy one or a "real" one? Where can I get a good one?

Theres alot of companies online that sell high quality mags , just do a search for magnifiers . The 1 i used was purchased from Harbor Frieght , a local tool supplier and it is made of glass at 2 1/2 x power . Actually you can buy far superior magnifiers that are better than what camera lens makers produce but there also expensive.Ive found 1 that gives you total DOF through the entire lens at 10x mag at a cost of $100.00 but you have to find a way to attach it to your camera.Eventually ill get 1 and see what i can do with it . If you can mount extra lenses you can make your own mag with a little creativness .This may give you some ideas and save you some time if you choose to make your own . I had fun studying and making mine .
My " mag "actually has 2 lens in it , heres some instructions on how i made it .
I use this constantly and achieve good results .I posted "My first Dragonfly Pic "
in this forum a few days ago .If you would like to see more pics let me know:|
