Sorry pappy, no spud or pear.

A clue..................neither of them have soft flesh, both eaten raw or as an ingredient in in other recipes.

Alright, three clues then :-).

First one looks like a shaven coconut :G
The second is obviously some exotic fruit that I heve never seen or eaten :-)
But Nikon 4t is great lens! Enjoy it!

Cheers!

You are right on the coconut CerambyX . Although i've never actually shaved one before :-). The fibres were naturally sparse.

The second one is not exactly exotic and there is every likelihood you have eaten one or many. Try not to be confused by the flash hotspots.

I am enjoying using the 4T, it's agreat little lens.

Thanks for guessing right.

What about (for the 2nd one) yellow melon (I know it's got heaps of different names in different countries / cultures). Names you might recognize: Honeydew melon, rock-melon, canteloupe (or something like that)....

How's my guessing? Any luck? :?

Btw, nice (interesting) pix! Send them in to Microsoft as new default desktops for their next version of Windows, ask for 1 cent per person using Windows (you might get rich that way!)

Paul (fund-raiser for Romania, can't you tell from my idea above!?!)

Thanks for guessing Paul, but no it's not melon by any name. Neither of the subjects have soft flesh.

I like your idea of getting rich off the back of Microsoft, would make a nice change from the usual, them getting rich off us :G.

Somehow though, I don't think they would buy the coconut desktop, too much like maggots.

Nor the, ooh, nearly said it then !!

Ah c'mon Stevekin, you can slip up, really you can (you almost did...) The suspense is killin' us (nearly as much as waiting for the review of theCanon S2 IS whicha lot of us were impatiently waiting for and wonderingwhat Steve would say about it..

OK, I realised (afterwards) how yes the melon would be considered a SOFT fruit thing... silly me! (but hey, what if it was DRIED melon, or decicated melon - as can be done with coconut...)

Hope Microsoft will take your 2nd (mystery...) photo as a backdrop and you'll give me some royalty for the idea!! :-) (we dream on!)

I dunno: SUPER close up of a raw olive? (I guess not with the zoom / distance statistics you gave ue!)

Or maybe a slice of pineapple?

That's my "eleventh hour" contribution / guess!

The first, as you now know, is a coconut, a not very hairy one.

The second can be known as a Groundnut, Earthnut, Goober, Pindas, Manila nut and the whole pod is also known as a Monkey nut. When you shell the thing, roast it and add salt, you get........a roasted, salted.................Peanut !!

The box shows the portion I posted.

Thanks for everyones guesses, I enjoyed this.8)
