Mysterious shot Graham. What is that grey area ? (dont have a hint on what ice-clad is...)

Klaus,

It's part of a ice coated stone wall in the Pentland Hills. The wall was covered with snow, which then melted in the sunshine - only to re-freeze overnight producing a solid coating of ice. The central sharp grey area (I believe) is the focused detail of the underlying stone showing through the ice. That's my guess anyway, I just like the texture.

Sorry about the confusion caused by my use of "Clad". It is a little old fashioned - covered is a more modern phrase.

p.s. I understand that "clothe, clothed or clad" used to be used more at one point (16th Century ?). This was based on the Old English word "clapod", influenced by Old Norse "Klaedda or Klaeddr".
