I like the second one particularly; not only is the bug weird, but the plant it's on looks like some kind of alien skin. Nice combination.

The first one has a perfect background, but is a little bit too centered.
The second is just perfect!
I guess these bugs are breathing through this little hole?

By the way: are there tax problems between Germany and Latvia?
I could buy cheap MaxCell 1000mAh Batteries for the FZ Cameras here and send them to you!
I use these cells with my FZ-5 and they are excellent!

Thanks for your comment Norm in Fujino and seemolf!
The first picture just was the shaprest from the whole bunch that I took that day. And I know that I have to work composition wise, but of course not every picture is perfect.

Yes, I also believe that they use that hole for breathing, but i'm not 100% shure.

I'll send you a PM regarding the battery question.

Yep, they breathe through little holes called "spiracles." They don't have lungs, just tubes that passively carry air around inside. That's why insects can't get very big. If they were the size of mammals, they would be all breathing tube and nothing else.

The second one is a true bug, a reduviid, or Assassin bug. You can see his "dagger" mouthparts tucked under his body. They can give humans a painful stab, so be careful with them.
