Blue and black... ever tried yellow and black???:-):-) :lol:

These are with a 10D and Sigma 105 EX Macro. I used a master 550ex flash with a sigma as a slave. A blue cloth was draped over the flashes to give the blue color. The shutter speed is 1/60 but I shot in almost complete darkness so it would actually be whatever the flash duration is and think is fairly quick. That also helped with naturally blacking out the background.

There was an excellent tutorial in Belgium Digital http://www.belgiumdigital.com/but I think they have taken it down now.

The set up was done in a kitchen sink. The guy useda CD disk which he had attached to a stand like the one used inchemistry classes to hold beakers. He adjusted the disk until the sun hit it and then dripped water onto the disk. The resulting pictures where pretty good. He also used a flash. Too bad the site has changed. Keep trying good luck.
