We have snow and ice here in Michigan, so I thought I'd try out my new Nikon D50 on a low light "icy" subject. There is still some noise, but much less than my Panasonic FZ20. Taken at iso 800, so that could be why some noise exists. I opted for the Tamron 24-135 macrorather than the D50 kit lens. So far I'm happy with the setup.

Same setup taken a couple hours later. The lensadds an interesting affect to pinpoints of light. It does add a few green artifacts, but overall I'm pleased with the combination. BTW, the only filter is a UV.
