Flowers are not my thing but i do occasionally think I should shoot something other than wildlife and sport so heres an attempt at a flower, same one two different shots. Second one much more enhanced. I don't have a macro lens yet so these were shot handheld with my canon 100-300 usm lens at F8 400 ISO

I like them both.* I like the way you chose to compose the shot.* I think you should continue to explore.* *You obviously have a good eye for composition.* *"Pretty in Pink"* Steve * ** ** ** ** *P.S.* Which 100-300mm do you have.* I have the Sigma 100-300mm f/4* and I am still learning to use it effectively.* You seem to have a good handle on yours.**

mine is the canon 100-300 usm 4.5 - 5.6, got it second hand off Ebay over a year ago and never looked back, this has been a great lens.

The first one works very well for me, the second looks a little washed out though (and yes I realise it's a light coloured flower :-) ). If I was being really really picky, the petals on the right looks softer than those on the left, but other than that there's not much you can do to improve on the first one

John.

You have done well aladyforty. There is artistic merit in both of them. Regards. Jaki

Both are nice but I prefer the first one. This is a lovely, delicate shade of pink.
