D70, Nikkor macro 105mm and 2 i-ttl Nikon flashes

It should be a red flower instead of being white.

Did you have the flashes behind the flower? Just curious, and did you AutoFocus or did you focus manually?

There was bounced flash light from thetop on the left handside for illuminating the petals and light from the underneath for illuminating the leaves and the background. I had used a Nikon softer 2 for blurring effects.

You are right that probably some of the light from below had penetrated the petals erasing the matt texture on the surface of thepetals.

The attached is another I took without using the filter. Perhaps, in this shot, you can see more clearly the incident angle of the flash light. It is still'one top, one below' in setting.

I use D70'spop-up flash as the guiding light for triggering the two i-ttlNikon flashes. Now, I have an electronic remote controller for firing the shutter and thatfrees me from the camera forlooking after the flashes when doing multiple-flash photography.ThewholeNikon set-upis pretty easy to manuverdespite the fact that I am shooting alone outdoor.

Focusing was done manually, which is more convenient for macro.
