I'm not a flower photographer and I have no clue what these are. I was walking through the park and found these just behind a bench. I stuck the 50mmF2 Macro on My Olympus E-500 through the slats on the bench and took this photo. Theblossoms are quite small...maybe an inch across.

When I pulled the picture up on the monitor, I noticed a very surreal almost impressionistic quality. It's not so much the flowers themselves that make picture as it is the background.

I did take some shots of this kind of flower and some of the shots were posted on the "close-up' column. I am very interested in knowing the name of this plant.

Very pleasant natural light and good framing. The blurring effect is also excellent without loss of details of the petals at the front, which are the focus of interest of this shot.

I got it finally. The flower isa species of Dianthus.
