Looks more like a Damselfly than a dragonfly, they do have some very beautiful colors. They are very similar to Dragonflies but they are much smaller.

hmmm Mike..that is interesting. I have never heard of a damselfly. But I will defineately do a google search now..thanks..Either way..I still like the blue little bug.

Mikes correct: it's a common blue damselfy or one of the many other similar species, see http://www.dragonflysoc.org.uk/frame...pecies&coe for example.

Nice shot. Could I say though how much better this would have looked if the back ground was dark. Hard though when you are shooting these guys hey?

Beautiful Damselfly (or flying bug thingy). I so love the subtle coloration from blue to delicate purple in the body. And the eyes. Oh my gosh, what a beautiful shade of blue in those eyes. You really dida great job getting these colors in this picture.

Nice capture.

Thankyou for the kind comments. I consider myself a novice photographer and I appreciate all feed back. I know I really love macro photography.
