Default Buying Advice...

I have been searching for a color laser that has good quality above all else in the range of $1500 to $2000 max. Oddly enough all I can find is reviews of sub $500 printers that don't really fit what I need. I had been looking at the Phaser 6360 and requested a sample the other day. I figured I should see what you guys recommend. We are a small family run print shop that is doing more and more digital short run work. Up until now we have been using our HP 5400 inkjets or sending out for our high volume needs. The jobs we run are usually two sided and have around 15,000 to 25,000 pages (or half that many sheets since they are two-sided). In a month though we may only do 30,000 copies. These books are for a very particular client though and they tend to have full page dark blue solids with very small, 4pt in some cases, white type reversed out of it which on some printers tends to plug or look blurred because of mis-registration of the colors. So for what we need quality is most important followed by reasonable speed of I would say 30ppm or greater. What brands or models would you guys recommend? Legal size will cover all our needs.

At your price range, I would suggest you look for Fuji Xerox (or called Xerox in some countries).

HP laser printers do not have good support with Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
