Hello. I have just read your review for DMC-LZ8. But i see some important differences in review between your (preview)model and production model.

Here i see clearly R21m29s available recording time. That is high.
And your comment "The length of capture is limited only by the amount of available memory." is also different.

The production model has limited 15 minutes recording time, no matter which memory card you use. Yes, it's locked at 15 minutes. They have changed in the fireware.

The movie mode itself is nice, but it's not effective. In widescreen best recording mode, 848x480 at 30 fps, you can record total 38 minutes until 4GB card is full. That is pretty much memory usage.
QT is still too big compared to MPEG4.

And yes, i owned one model. The camera is great in taking pictures with good white balance and low high-iso noise. That is strong point for cheap DMC-LZ8 camera. The camera speed itself is acceptable.
