Code:
the main idea of the camera has not changed. It still has JIS Class 8 Waterproof and JIS Class 5 Dust proof performance. This allows you to capture images and video up to 3 meters below the surface for up to 2 hours.
in fact it is waterproof grade 8 and can be used to take pictures at a depth of 4 m continuously for 2 hours

This was a typo, thanks for pointing that out.

Cheers.

Has anyone used the "digital wide" feature?
Is it being able to stitch (in camera) 2 portrait orientated images into one "21mm" 5 megapixal image?
Is it easy to do ?
Any examples anywhere?

hi, i tried taking video shots. On playback, i hear a distorted sound similar to raindrops on a tin foil or a firecracker, dunno how else to describe it, but does any of you experienced this? i hope it's a defect that can be replaced at the shop.

That doesn't sound normal.

You should compare yours with the ones we have on our Optio W60 Samples page. We have two movie examples, one at 640x480 and one at 1280x720.

If you don't hear the same sound in our samples, I'd say you should take it back to your retailer and exchange it for a new one.

Good luck!

Try to select PF (instread od AF) when taking movies. AF motor is quite loud.

1030sw vs w60: http://public.fotki.com/Primoz/1030swvsw60/

O = Olympus 1030SW
P = Pentax W60
a = original
b = enlarged

Thanks primus! I unchecked the Af w/ recording option at the Movie record settings. Does that mean I don't have to bring it back to the shop for replacement?
