Default Nikon 60mm Spotting Scope

I am very interested in this subject and currently I have a Nikon 60mm S&E scope. Is it possible to go into digiscoping with this using a Coolpix 995 or 4500 digicam. I see many people using 80mm scopes here, but has anyone used a Nikon 60 mm scope?
Help appreciated. :?:

The bigger question is not if it's is a 80mm or 60mm. It's a question of what camera you have and how well it matches up with the eye piece. Both the camers you list (I believe) have a smaller lens and therefor are easier to match up with a scope's eye piece.

I know nothing about the Nikon scope, so I can't comment on it's eye piece size or how large its exit pupil size is. Another question is how good the scope's coatings are to cut down on aberations and flare. I've only used a Swarovski, sorry.

My understanding is that a 60mm will gather less light than an 80mm (all other things being equal.) So there will be some situations where the scene will be dark enough that you'll have trouble with the 60, where the 80 would have worked well. But I would bet that most of the time the 60 would be fine.

Obvoulsly, other should step up and correct me if I've got something wrong. There are many here with a lot more experience at Digiscoping than I do.
