Default Tobacco House (IR Bi-Color)

Hi @ll!

This image was taken twice ... a normal color shot and an IR color shot. Then the color shot's red channel was exchanged against the red channel of the IR shot. That's why I call it "Bi-Color".

Taken with a Canon G1 and Hoya R72 IR filter.

Nice surrealistic effect.

I like the technique of taking two pictures of the same scene from a tripod with different settings (in this case visible and IR light), and then combining them.

That red is pretty intense.... almost pink. Have you tried to make it a little more of a richer red... move it toward yellow a bit???

I'd like to see more shots like this. Very cool! keep it up.

Thank you Roger,

visit my IR gallery to find a further shot like this, where the leaves are fire red:

It's not easy to achive the wanted red tones ... usually they turn out orange, but I prefer red :-)
