Default Not by design....

....but by accident.

I was using Photomatix to enhance a picture of part of our garden, but among the component pictures - supposedly of the same view at different exposures - I obviously included a picture of something that didn't belong there at all.

Nonetheless, the result seemed to be worth keeping! -

It's good.

Remindful of "water color" effect in PE2.

First of all I like it, not taking anything away from it, I do like it.

However people forget these effects have been around for many many many years since before computers were ever even dreamt of.

I used to go out and photograph unusual "textures", make a negative and use it in the enlarger with the original negative to create the same, Patterson used to sell them

It looks like an image in a 3D theater when you take the glasses off. To me its value is zip and worthy of the bin.

The image seems as water color painting. This is just so artistic. Lovely

This has certainly brought out an intriguing assortment of comments.

If "Art" can only result from somebody's application of his creative mind, then the accidental picture I posted certainly isn't Art.

But remembering the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose that even a pattern created by rotating a kaleidoscope can - depending on who is looking at it - be thought attractive.

And then there's the old Roman saying - "De gustandibus non est disputandum". (Not sure that I spelled that right.)

I have no plans to make a big print of it and have it framed to hang somewhere in our house, but if I ever do that, maybe I should be prepared to turn it round to face the wall to hide it from our more discriminating friends who happen to visit......
