Default Oriental touch?

I don't know whether this qualifies as "Art", but it involves using the Faststone Image Viewer "painting" function, and the Easy HDR Special Effects function on a picture of a corner of the Japanese garden in Victoria's Glendale Gardens.

Default Alternative

Might this be preferable to the first one?

It's good, I like it.

The second pix appears a bit washed out on my screen so the fall-back would be preference for image 1. Others experience may differ depending on their hardware & settings.

Thanks. I've since discovered an app - maybe it's new - that I've used on this picture. It's called MOKU HANGA.

It good too, although I personally enjoy it more after adding a touch of "blur" (ie, "smart blur" in Photo Elements).

Default Smart Blur

sdromel

I've tried Smart Blur on it and it's taken a big step towards looking more like a real woodblock. It's considerably reduced the ugly squiggles that Moku Hanga created. Thank you very much for mentioning it.

I'd be interested to see your result. Here's what my result looks like -
