It's in German but you can still download and install in English if you wish. It is the 2.2 version. Once d/l and installed though you can go to the canon website, d/l the updater and install that. Works perfectly.
Thanks MandUnion, followed the link, downloaded the version there and then updated from Canon website. Worked like a charm. (On my Dell I needed to re-start the computer after downloading the 2.2 version for the set-up process to be recognised. After that, no worries.) CHEERS!

Default solution

Only thing that seemed to work reasonably well .. and was relatively safe .. was to download ZB570UPD_EN.exe from the official Taiwan Canon support site. By some miracle Canon missed this file in their scrubbing of such things from the web. Installed that with the "extract the files from the compressed .exe file" mentioned earlier in this thread. Find the install sub-directory in that set of extracted files/folders and install. That worked to get to v5. Then upgrade from there. Those other sites you have no idea what you are getting.

What's really ridiculous is jumping through these hoops to get this working. I own 5 digital Canon cameras including an S3 IS and Xti and have registered all of them with Canon ... and yes I managed to loose all those CDs. What's the point of registering if Canon won't help us out in a situation like this? For creminie sake ... they have all my info already.

Default Zoombrowser

I second Kathleen27's accolades to LMM. His clear key-stroke by key-stroke procedure really worked; I had know idea of what I was doing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me.

For anyone who still encounters this dilemma, here's something easier for all of you, I tried every listed method found here and non of the above worked for me for some reason, I finally got a installer that works and it's versions 6.01 to boot!

The link below is just like having the disc and installing zoombrowser, I have put it in a rar, this is the most hassle free way of getting what you need.

71.85 MB

To canon for not making this an available download, what a freakin' hassle to find

EDIT: I forgot to add the reg keys, use this first, then use the installer

1. Run the '!!! Registry Keys !!!' in order to bypass previous install checks.
2. Install program

2 KB

If anyone needs the other programs with the EOS software disc let me know, I can zip/rar them and make links available for those too.

Default EOS Utility?

Like many of you, I misplaced/lost/no longer have access to my original installation discs. If you could upload EOS Utility for 400D (not sure if it is camera-specific or not, but worth the shot), this will be greatly appreciated!
