I would like to find out if anyone is using the SONY SNAP LAB or SIMILAR Dye Sub printer to get some feedback on COST PER PRINT as well as overall general info on what they like and dislike.

I would like to get a printer that can do 5x7 and if possible up to 8x10 if the printer is not toooooo expensive.

I haven't used the Sony Snaplab myself but it is supposed to be pretty good. Certainly a viable option if you don't want to use a laptop. The only disappointing aspect is that it doesn't do prints over 5x7. I have used the Mitsubishi 9550DW many times and if you are happy to use a laptop and want to do 6x8 & 6x9 prints as well I would go for that.

If you want to go to 10x8 / 12x8 you're going to have to get a different printer altogether. You can either choose between the Kodak 1400 / Mitsubishi 3020DA which use flat sheets of paper with borders or you could go for the Kodak 9810 which is very expensive but prints borderless 10x8 /12x8 from a roll. It is a very impressive printer though. :G

The Sony SnapLab is GREAT!!! I bought a second one because I need to print 4x6 and 5x7's quick, fast, and in a hurry. When they make one that will do 8x10's, I'll buy my third.
