I now have a choice of two printing methods for enlarged pictures in a nearby store that has both a Fuji Frontier Mini-lab and a Kodak Picture Maker Machine (for how long now that they have the other machine?) Anyhow, both technologies give excellent results. But I am curious as to which will last longer without noticeable color degradation. I have a few pictures I would like to frame (already have one printed using a dye sublimation printer) and want to know which technology is best and lasts longer.
Thanks |

DyeSub printing will provide long life quality. This is a quote from a description of DyeSub in Steve's Dictionary section: "Dye sub prints rival conventional photographs in both their color gamut and longevity with water and UV resistant qualities. " If you want to test the quality of both print methods lay two samples in the direct sun light for a couple of days and you should be able to tell what type of fading problems you will have.

sublimation is really better, but it takes a some more money.
But you can spare, with higher quaity paper... Try some Qualimage paper, this is the best... www.sublimation-tech.com www.qualimage.hu |

The Fuji Frontier Mini-lab gives better prints, with none of the red bleed of the Kodak and most other DS printers.
