Default Organising photo

Hello,

until last year i was using (and still using of course) folders of my computers to store photos.
But i tried first Picasa, but then i realised that teh tags are not saved on the photos.
Then i tried Microsoft's software that stores info on files, but it has too many bugs!

Now i'm searching again!

The options are Lightroom, Elements, Picasa, would you recommend any of the three?
I am afraid of start using Picasa again, and one day all taggings would be gone!

Thank you

Thanks man!

Do you know if the tags/info are saved in the file or just in the software?

Thanks again.

they should be in the file if you are referring to the exif data. If you are talking about tags you put in later, I am not quit sure how lightroom deals with it.

light room does not change anything to the master when you edit. So you can always go back to the beginning.

I basically want to tag and organise my photos better, that is my main concern for now.

That's why i am trying to find out if the info are saved in the photos or just in the programs separately..

Well lightroom is a organizing software first, but they have added editing elements in it. So for organizing it is the best one for windows base systems. But sorry I am not sure if the tag is place on the photo or in the program, I suspect it is in the program so that it does not alter the master.

It might add the info to the metadata of the files.

You might want to take a look at Irfanview. It has the ability to add and edit metadata.
