I got a Nikon coolpix 5200 and using the 5mp and fine settings, I'm finding the image sizes are usually small. I took a photo before and on my pc it is stated as 1.33mb but after using the auto enhance on the picture project it shot up to 2.98mb! :?:

What is the software doing to increase the file size that much? All I can see at first glance is it's slightly brighter.

Also my average 5mp fine photos are 1.33mb to 1.79mb does this sound low? I'm using the internal memory at the moment if that makes a difference. I had a canon ixus 400 that sometime gave 2.5mb images.

While it is generally hard to correlate image resolution with file sizes, 1.33Mb for a 5MP file does seem awfully small. Have you checked the image dimensions to ensure it is in fact 5MP? ie. roughly 2500 x 1900 pixels which corresponds to 5MP.

I have the same problem. I am currently using PictureProject 1.5 and when I auto-enhance any image, it double the size. Does not matter what resolution is used. How can I shrink the image back to its normal size inside pictureproject. And why is it doing this? I am using the Windows version.
