Does Paint Shop Pro 9 require "activation"?
By that, I mean any of the technologies where you:

1. install the program on your machine
2. send the publisher of the program information generated by the program installed on your machine
3. Get an unlock key from the publisher that allows you to run the program only on that specific configuration of hardware.

I currently have PSP 4 and Corel 9 and won't upgrade to Corel 11, because it uses PACE protection. I severly dislike machine locked programs, because I rarely maintain the same exact hardware configuration for more than 6 months or so. They can also require re-activation at a most critical moment, when the publisher's customer support is closed for the holidays, to say nothing of what do you do when the program is bought by a competitor, and you can't get replacement activation keys anymore.

I know this was a while ago, but if you are still wondering...

No it doesn't, I just got it today and it just installs from the cd, no serial, no activation.
